Consider a Cover Up if You Hate Your Tattoo

Do you want to end up with regrets, hating a tattoo every time you get a glance at it? It’s even worse when it’s located in an area that you can’t avoid.  Even embarrassing, when it’s in an area that most people you encounter can see and is difficult to cover up with clothing.

There are way too many people walking into tattoo shops without a clear idea of what type of tattoo they want. They’re acting impulsively and without planning in advance.  Sometimes this lack of a plan works out. They end up with a talented artist and the design is appealing and the customer is happy for life.  That’s the catch.  A tattoo is for life, or until you decide it’s time for laser removal!

If you happen to have a tattoo you now regret it and want to disappear, have you thought about a cover-up? Laser removal isn’t the only answer to making an ugly or unwanted tattoo go away.

TattooSome artists specialize in cover-ups as picking the right design and color scheme can make for a new and attractive tattoo while completely camouflaging the eyesore beneath it. The artist has to use the correct amount of dark ink to cover the inks below without creating a blackish mess.

The most talented artists in this specialized field do their best work if the client gives them free reign on coming up with the design.  The client can give the artist some ideas that they like and the artist could come up with some rough sketches.

Once the artist finds an image that the client likes, they either make the stencil from their drawing or they freehand the image with a special skin writing pen. This allows the artist some creative freedom which most artists look forward to.

It can be a bit tedious if every client through the door picks a specific piece of flash and doesn’t request any type of alteration.  Just follow the stencil and match up the colors with the flash.  They say this is the best way to learn the basics of tattooing but when you graduate to a professional, experienced artist, you want to begin to using your artistic input into your tattooing.

When tattoo artists reach a certain status and popularity, they have opportunities to work out of shops that ONLY work on custom tattoos. This would also be a good shop to seek out a cover-up.

If you ended up with a tattoo that you now want to disappear, think about the opportunity of adding a cover-up by a skillful tattoo artist.
